After announcing Counter Strike: Global Offensive as the first title for the newly created ESL Major Series, the Electronic Sports League announced early Monday that Defense of the Ancients 2, the game designed and distributed by Valve will be the 2^nd title featured in the league. The prize pool for the DotA 2 side of things will be the same as that of the CS:GO tournament, a total of $156,000 to be distributed in 4 total seasons during the year.

Unlike in CS:GO, a caster has not yet been appointed for the league, meaning we still don’t know who will be bringing us all the action from the matches. Just like in the CS;GO competition, there will be a live final after each of the 4 seasons held this year. The ESL has confirmed that the event for the CS:GO finals and the event for the Dota 2 finals will be different, meaning both finals won’t be held at the same time.
