Season Two Recap - Part 2: Competitive Play

The 2nd part of the recap of Season 2 is about the major Team changes, the rising of Moscow 5 and the sucesses of MYM.

The propably most suprising team of season 2 was Moscow 5. With their unique playstyle they rushed through the IEM unbeaten. Moscow 5 was the first team who really counterjungled and played unusual champion, e.g. their famous AD Kennen. And it worked! They stayed unbeaten until DreamHack Summer 2012 where they were finally beaten by CLG.eu in an exciting best of three. But they hang in there and won in Poland the European Challenger Circuit against CLG.eu and the following Season Two Regional Finals against SK Gaming. Everyone waited for the Season 2 World Championship to see how M5 would do against the Asian teams. It turned out that the Asian teams were too strong, they kicked out every European and Amercian team and in a great final between Taipei Assassins and Azubu Frost, which the Taipei Assassins won. We will see this coming season how Moscow 5 will do and whether they will show us some new line-ups and new forms of the meta again.

Another new Team showed up in season 2 - CLG.eu.Former players of SK, Absolute Legends and mTw.eu configured the team:

Snoopeh (Jungle)

Wickd (Toplane)

Froggen (AP Carry)

Krepo (Support)

Yellowpete (AD Carry)

CLG.eu showed a strong perfomance during the season and seems to be the only european team who can rival Moscow 5.  Strong teamplay and taking risks makes CLG.eu a strong team from which we can expect a lot of good matches in Season 3.
Season 2 wasn't the best Season for SK Gaming. The Team around Ocelote had some huge line-up issues. After Wickd and Snoopeh left the team, jungle and top lane often changed players too. Even YellOwStaR replaced SK's Ad Carry Candy Panda for alomost 3 months.  The current lineup is:

ocelote (AP Carry)

Nyph (Support)

Kev1n (Top)

Araneae (Jungle)

Candy Panda (AD Carry)

The changing of the lineup had concequences for the teamplay. It wasn't possible to work as a team and work on strageties with all the changes. That's propably the reason for not winning a single tournament in Season 2 - it was always close with e.g. 2nd place at Season Two Regional Finals but it was never enough to reach the first place. The current lineup seems stable and maybe SK will have more luck in Season 3.

The winner of Season 1 Championship, FnaticRC, didn't show the same strong performance in Season 2. Fnatic's most popular player Shushei left the team. Hence from then on, sOAZ became their new Toplaner. Mellisan also left the team due to educational reasons. He got replaced by Pheilox and later nRated. Unfourtnely they were unable to replicate their eralier sucesess. After being placed 4th at the Season Two Regional Finals, Lamia announced that he would be leaving too. Currently, Fnatic's AD Carry is missing. The current lineup looks as follows:

sOAZ (Top)

CyanideFL (Jungle)

xPeke (AP Carry)

nRated (Support)

Talking about MeetYourMakers, we decided to let go our last Spanish team to sign our current Polish team, which has been with us for many months now. Even though the team couldnt qualify for the Season 2 Championship, they still managed to achieve some good results, such as a 2nd place finish at Campus Party Europe in Germany, 1st place at Tembakan LAN held in Poland and 3rd place at RaidCAll PLAY Cup in April which was held online. Our current team has improved a lot since we signed them, and we can expect a lot more from them in this coming season, having already qualified for IEM Singapore.

Mokatte (Jungle)

Czaru (AP carry)

Makler (AD Carry)

Libik (Support)

Kubon (Top)
