As we mentioned a few weeks ago, we’ve recently boosted our StarCraft II roster with new players for a total of six pros and their manager,  Alexander “dykEEE” Van Dyk. This week we interviewed two of our recent additions, Lithuanian Protoss player  Vytautas “Arew” Graiciunas and Polish Protoss player  Michał “KroLu” Królewski. We asked them about themselves as players, what it’s like to be a part of the new-and-improved SC2 crew and what they think of the upcoming expansion, Heart of the Swarm. We’ll be releasing interviews with all of our players in the weeks that follow.

MYM: What made you join the MeetYourMakers StarCraft II team?

Arew: I’ve been in MYM before, from 2007 to 2009. But when the economic crisis came to Europe, they had to disband both the WC3 and SC:BW squads. Since then I’ve always wanted to rejoin MYM since I did really like the time I had there in the past. I’m really happy that my dreams came true!

KroLu: MeetYourMakers is a great team with huge potential, great management and great players. I can tell that I will increase my performance with such a good team as MYM.

MYM: Do you have any strengths that you are known for? (Strong macro, good drops, creep spread, Blink micro, etc?) Don’t be modest!

Arew: Hmm… that’s hard to say. But I think my strength is safe and passive play. That sounds boring, but that’s the way I win games. I try not to do crazy stuff unless I feel like I’ll surely be ahead and it’s going to work or it is really necessary. Also, my macro has always been my strongest point since StarCraft: Brood War, so I think that’s about it.

KroLu: I’m a very creative player with a very aggressive play style. As a rule I prefer a macro style more than in WoL. Few players knows me as a cheeser which helps my mind game a lot because my opponents can't predict my strategy.

MYM: What do you think of your teammates?

Arew: I like my teammates. I think we have a good team, good spirit and good players at the moment. I think we’ll do really well, I just know it is going to be like that!

KroLu:  Arew is one of the best Lithuanian players with a good past. I’m sure he will show great results in the team.  Ares is a young German player with amazingly huge potential. I’m sure he’ll spread his wings soon.  Dragon is a really cool guy! I love his stream and play style. He is also a good player with experience. I’m sure  PhoeNix will be our ace player; his macro is incredibly good, just like his micro. And  ShAyErS is a fighter. He will go his way to be a top player.  

MYM: 2013 is still new. What do you think MYM.SC2 will accomplish this year?

Arew: I think that we’ll accomplish a lot, both solo and as a team. I think we got players who are capable of winning tournaments and with such a team spirit, we’ll do pretty well at team leagues as well. I can proudly say that 2013 will be our year! ;)

KroLu: I’m sure that MYM.SC2 will achieve a lot of titles in both single and tam leagues. It is obvious with the players and management we have.

MYM: This question is for Arew: You’re one of the most famous Lithuanian players in StarCraft II. What is it like to represent your country?

Arew: It feels really good. When you’re at WCG, WCS or other events and you represent your own country, you want to do even better. I also feel a lot of responsibility when I’m playing under my country’s name. I guess a lot of people feel that, so sometimes it’s hard to overcome this.  I’ve always liked that fans from Lithuania and other countries cheer for me. That helps a ton, thank you guys for that. MYM: Having played in the beta, what is your opinion of Heart of the Swarm?

Arew: In my opinion, Heart of the Swarm still needs more balance patches. But by release I hope it’s going to be fine. It will be a really fun game; I think it will be even better than Wings of Liberty due to new units, abilities and such. Also, with new features, like watching replays with your friends and continuing games from replays it will be even more amazing.

KroLu: HotS is a great game. There is a lot of new stuff which makes the game faster and harder than before. I’m enjoying this game more than ever before.

MYM: Right now, what balance issues do you think there are in the Heart of the Swarm beta?

Arew: I haven’t touched Heart of the Swarm too much, but as for now, I can say that mines are too strong. Also, I think that Oracles and Hellbats are a bit too strong, but well, I can’t say a lot since I didn’t play it much yet.

KroLu: I’m sure Blizzard will do their best to balance the game as much as possible, but actually, right now it’s quite good!
