Last month has been a bit quiet in the MYM camp, but we are now back in full force for new year, and what better way to start with than informing you that our very own German FIFA 13 player Benedikt ´SaLz0r´ Saltzer has managed to qualify for the upcoming Virgin Gaming EA Sports Challenge, to be held in Las Vegas on February 9th.

This is the second edition of the tournament, which last year was held in New York, and which saw British Team Dignitas player Adam ´AdamW´ Winster securing the gold and $167,200 in the process. This year, the winner of the tournament will walk home with a bit less of cash, as a total of $140,000 will be awarded out to the winner this time around.

During the online qualification phase, our German star had to beat 2 opponents in order to qualify for the live finals, after starting the qualifier in the 4th round. Thankfully for him, none of his opponents proved to be strong enough, as he managed to dispose of both ´Paro´ and ´Thoren´ with relative ease.

We talked to Benedikt after the victory, and this is what he had to say:

"I am very happy that I won the semifinals and will travel to Las Vegas. If the qualification is online the game depends on luck and the connection. Therefore I had fear of which kind of opponent I would get. I was lucky that I had to play against two Europeans so the connection was okay. I won both games 2:1, 3:1 and got the Ticket for Las Vegas. I am curious as of to what to expect and I hope I can show my best performance there. Furthermore, it is positive that we play offline, so everybody has the same conditions. I will see what happens from game to game and then maybe I'll win something! In any case I will do my best! "
