News:
MYM.LoL Qualifies For IEM: Cologne
Our Polish League of Legends team ahs made it out alive in the EU Crossrealm qualifier for IEM Cologne, and will now be travelling to Cologne in December.
The European Crossrealm qualifier for Intel Extreme Masters Cologne took place Saturday afternoon in European time. The teams which managed to qualify through the previous qualifiers held in the EUW and EUNE servers all gathered to fight for one of the three spots that the qualifier would hand out to the top 3 finishers. One of those teams was our Polish League of Legends, who after convincingly reaching the finals of the IPL Royale on Friday arrived to the match with a boost in confidence.
1/4 Finals:
MYM Picks: Olaf, Udyr, Twisted Fate, Vayne and Sona
M5 Picks: Irelia, Shyvana, Zilean, Corki and Zyra
Our team was placed in what could be called the hardest side of the bracket, as they were to start their participation in the qualifier by playing against the all mighty
´Kubon´ seemed to have a nice time during the match, as he managed to finish the match with 6 kills, 0 deaths and 10 assists.
Semifinals:
Game 1 MYM Picks: Darius, Skarner, Twisted Fate, Kog´Maw and Zyra
Game 1 CLG.eu Picks: Jax, Nunu, Ahri, Ezreal and Blitzcrank
Game 2 MYM Picks: Olaf, Skarner, Twisted Fate, Sivir and Nunu
Game 2 CLG.eu Picks: Rumble, Amummu, Vladimir, Kog´Maw and Lulu
After disposing of Moscow 5 our team would move on to face
CounterLogicGaming.eu in the semifinals. The match was predicted to be a close one once again, but considering CLG.eu were playing from the United States, their pings ended up playing a bigger role in their play than many would have wanted. With this in mind, our team managed to comfortably win the match with a final score of 2-0. This win meant our team had qualified for IEM Cologne, making it the 3rd IEM event in a row for which our team manages to qualify, after having qualified for IEM Guangzhou, Singapore and now Cologne.
After our team qualified, 2 spots still remained to be won by the other teams. The second semifinal in the upper bracket was played between
Fnatic.RC and
SK Gaming, a match which Fnatic.RC managed to win comfortably, thus qualifying for the event. After this, only one spot remained, and it would be awarded to whoever managed to win the lower bracket semifinal, which was played between
Eclypsia and Moscow 5. The match was an interesting one, but Eclypsia continued with their great recent string of results and managed to overcome the Russians to win the final spot for IEM Cologne.
Qualified teams for IEM Cologne so far:
MeetYourMakers
Fnatic.RC
Eclypsia
Team Alternate
Team Dignitas
CLG.Prime
* 2 more Asian teams will qualify in the coming days.
