The third season of The Defense is now upon us, and it promises to be bigger than ever before. The new season presents 2 new sponsors in the shape of Roccat and Own3d.tv, and will also see an increase in the number of participants, as a total of 32 teams will participate this season instead of the 24 that did last season. The 32 teams will be fighting for a prize pot of $20,000, which also represents an increase from last season’s offering.

Prize distribution:

1st - $10,000

2nd - $5,000

3rd - $3,500

4th - $1,500

This season will see a new format introduced, as the organizers promise tougher qualifiers and a longer groupstage. So far, a total of 24 teams have been found, while the remaining 8 will be found through an online qualifier. The qualifier will have a total of 512 slots open, which should allow any interested team to take part in it. If you wish to take part in the qualifier, you can sign up here.
