GOMTV StarCraft 2 manager and caster Mr. Chae hopped on the GOMTV forums last Tuesday to announce the locations for the next two GSL Season Grand Finals. Following the locations, he also announced that the next GSL World Championship tournament will take place concurrently with the Season 5 Grand Finals.

Less than three weeks away, the GSL Season 4 Grand Finals will commence in Seoul’s Gangnam district of recent international K-Pop fame. Finalists will face off in the COEX Auditorium on Saturday, October 20 at 5:10 p.m. KST.

The GSL Season 5 Grand Finals, perhaps with even more style than Gangnam, will take place alongside the IGN ProLeague 5 in Las Vegas, Nevada. As if the GSL and IPL together weren’t enough joy for your average gamer, the GSL World Championship tournament will be happening at the same venue. All three will take place from November 29 to December 2.

For newcomers, the GSL World Championship will consist of up to three rounds of games between a “Dream Team” of South Korea’s best StarCraft 2 players and a similar All Star team of players from outside the peninsula. Teams will be five strong. As of yet, none of the Korean players are known, and only Johan “NaNiWa” Lucchesi and Ilyes “Stephano” Satouri are known to be seeded into the All Star team.

Round 1 will be conducted in Proleague format where each team announces its lineup before the first match. Round 2 will use the All-Kill format, also called “Winner Stays On,” where lineups aren’t announced and every time a match ends, the winner of the match remains to attempt to eliminate the next player in the opposing team’s lineup. This format is the one used by the GSTL. Round 3, if necessary, will be a single 1v1 ace match between one player from each team.
