TwitchTV secures $15 million dollars in investment from Bessemer Venture Partners

The ever-growing North American based gaming streaming platform TwitchTV, has secured $15 million dollars in investment from Bessemer Venture Partners, with the help of Alsop Louie Partners and Draper Associates as well

North American based streaming company TwitchTV has today announced they have managed to secure up to $15 million dollars in their 2nd round of investment, mainly from Bessemer Venture Partners, with the help of Alsop Louie Partners and Draper Associates as well. Bessemer Venture Partners already invests in other well known online companies like Skype or LinkedIn, and have said that TwitchTV is just the kind of company they are interested in investing at.

TwitchTV has grown at an incredible rate in the last year, now racking up to 20 million unique viewers every month as well as more than 2000 broadcasters, "I’m very proud of our accomplishments, but there’s so much more to do. Our current team has put us at the forefront of the live video game streaming movement, and we can now invest aggressively to support our growing community with new ways to stream, watch, and chat." said Emmett Shear, CEO of Twitch

One of the main ambitions for TwitchTV in the near future is to develop a system which gamers can use to stream directly from their games with a single click, and without the use of 3rd party software like it has been the case until now. Apart from that, TwtitchTV will also invest in new employees (currently have 60), its global video delivery infrastructure, quality of service or in growing their partnership network.

What the future holds for TwitchTV is unknown for all of us, but it sure looks like a bright one considering they are already one of the biggest, if not the biggest gaming streaming platform nowadays. TwitchTV also has a great presence within the community and are highly regarded by gamers as one of the most supportive companies to the scene, as they support a lot of players and tournaments worldwide.
