The second edition of joinDOTAs online tournament The Defense with a 10,000€ prize pool is coming to an end today. CompLexity Gaming has shown that they are still one of the top teams and already qualified themselves for the Grand Final which will start at 20:00 CEST. Before that, at 17:00 CEST, Counter Logic Gaming and mousesports will fight for the second spot in the final. Meanwhile Na'Vi, the winner of the first The Defense, was not able to defend the title, being taken down by POTM Bottom in the playoffs where they were defeated 0-2.

Just before the final matches will start, we will give you a review on the UB and LB Final to remember what is going on, starting with EG vs mouz in the LB.

Game 1

Radiant - EG

Lycan, Chen, Venomancer, Brewmaster, KotL

Dire - mouz

Natures's Prophet, Lone Druid, Enigma, Windrunner, QoP

While many pushers were banned by EG, both of the teams still managed to pick a strong pushing lineup. In the 5th minute, EG was able to get first blood out of a smoke gank by Chen, Venomancer and Brewmaster against the Lone Druid on the mid lane. The first tower to fall was the Dire's T1 at the bottom lane at the 6 minute mark, followed 3 minutes later by the T2. After this, EG started to play really aggressively, already trying to push down the bottom barracks but not succeeding in it. However, a roshan attempt by mouz could be pretended by EG. With necro books on Lycan and KotL, they were able to push more towers and take roshan at 16 minutes. The Dire top barracks fell at 18 minutes, mid barracks followed at 20 minutes. EG instantly rotated bot, forcing GG for a game in which mouz had nothing to stop EG. The final kill score was 6:3.

Game 2

Radiant - mouz

Naga, Venomancer, Rubick, KotL, Lone Druid

Dire - EG

Leshrac, Tide, Disruptor, Morphling, Lich

In the second game, mouz did not seem as if they would have been impressed by their loss. Playing confidently, they took first blood on Leshrac, instantly followed by a kill on Lich. The combination of the Naga net and the KotL nuke worked out well for mouz, and it was this time their turn to claim the first tower. Coming out strong out of their lanes, which gave them the early game advantage, mousesports went on, taking towers and kills. However, EG was not as helpless as mouz in the first game and able to get some kills in revenge. The game stayed in control of mouz, Radiance on Naga was finished soon. Filled with more action and more kills than the first game, the second game still was fast and ended at the 27th minute after mouz taking bot and mid barracks.

Game 3

Radiant - mouz

Dark Seer, Venomancer, Enchantress, Shadow Shaman, Anti-Mage

Dire - EG

Naga, Chen, Windrunner, Nature's Prophet, KotL

EG started the game with four heroes on the bottom lane, taking the tower at 1:30. Only a few seconds later, mouz did the same on top but using only three heroes for that. Mousesports went on to the T2 tower and brought it down. One minute later, at 4:30, they were able to deny their bottom T2. It took EG one additional minute into the game to get the first blood which resulted in two kills for EG and one for mouz. After this, the pushing calmed down, the players seemed to be more interested in kills and the next tower fell at 20 minutes. EG was able to take a free roshan. When the two teams met at the next roshan, Anti-Mage had his courier flying in and bringing him a basher during Naga ulti. Mouz won the teamfight and got aegis for AM. While the Anti-Mage was shut down at the beginning because his bottom lane has been pushed that hard, he got all the space he needed after EG left the lane. This, and his Battlefury, helped him farm fast. Although EG was leading the kill score, AM had not only the highest farm, but also the highest level on the map. The pushes coming out from mouz forced Naga to buyback two times. She got far behind and could not stand a chance against Anti-Mage. The combination of Naga ulti and Prophet teleporting in allowed EG to steal roshan, but again they lost the following teamfight. The power of Anti-Mage gets himself a rampage and forces the GG out of EG at 53 minutes.

These games were followed by the UB final between CLG and coL which we will also summarize for you:

Game 1

Radiant - CLG

Invoker, Enchantress, Morphling, Shadow Shaman, Enigma

Dire - coL

Chen, Venomancer, Tide, Chaos Knight, Tinker

After an attempt by CLG to kill Tinker which has no success, Chen and Venomancer come in, dropping a sentry ward to get the first blood on invoker who was trying to escape through invisibility. Tide was stacking the Dire Ancients multiple times, getting nearly no experience. When Venomancer came to his lane to help him out, Morphling got a double kill. Tinker then tried to farm the Ancients but was disturbed by Morph. At his second try, he even died, but returned again, spending a lot of time on this farming, finally able to get the creeps. The fast Ethereal Blade which Morphling was able to buy because of his many ganks was not enough to get a kill after a free roshan for coL. Both teams were pushing down towers but only coL could take down the barracks, securing their win. GG called at 43 minutes.

Game 2

Radiant - coL

Invoker, Tide, Venomancer, Lone Druid, Earth Shaker

Dire - CLG

Rubick, Tinker, Enchantress, Shadow Shaman, Dragon Knight

While starting slow, the game became faster and faster. With the help of Rubick's stolen Ravage, CLG took control over the game and brought down heroes and towers. The last three minutes of the game just destroyed coL because the CLG players got kills, but did not get killed. Without any need of retreating and the aegis on Dragon Knight, they were able to put coL under constant pressure in these three minutes. The game came to a sudden end after 20 minutes where coL had to give up.

Game 3

Radiant - coL

Nature's Prophet, Vengeful Spirit, Beastmaster, Void, Lina

Dire - CLG

Invoker, Venomancer, Enchantress, Sandking, Broodmother

In this third game, we did not need to wait for the action as longs as in the second, because there were two tri lanes going up against each other at the bottom lane, which lead to early kills. Misery, who was playing a strong Sandking, had a good time on the top lane against Beastmaster, but could not make any use of it later in the game. CLG could not pretend the constant grow of coL's power. The fact that Void's ulti was often used in the right time and place reduced CLG's chance to take control over the game. After taking down Roshan, claiming the aegis and winning the teamfight, coL instantly went for the mid and top barracks, but when they rotated to bot, Prophet died, not able to buy back. CLG saw their chance and what was initially intended to be a chase for Lina turned into a push against the Radiant bottom barracks. Prophet still wasn't alive, but his team could buy enough time for him to respawn and finish the game with the help of the mid and top creeps pushing the Dire Ancient. This secured coL's spot at the Grand Final.

Who they will be going up against will be decided in just a couple of moments, don't miss it! Also remember to keep checking myMYM.com for new updates! We wish all of the remaining teams in The Defense good luck, may the best win!
